When it comes to Taiwanese food in Singapore, Eat 3 Bowls has become something of a household name. Its two outlets in Pasir Panjang and Sengkang draw consistent crowds, and with the recent opening of a new branch in Bendeemer, that trend seems set to continue.

This new eatery sports a distinctively retro look. If you look at the image above, perhaps the antiquated wooden tables and chairs will strike you first. But there is also a corner made to look like an old cinema, with posters from classic period films lining the walls. There is also a corner made to look like a mama shop from years bygone.

All these elements make Eat 3 Bowls’ latest outlet perfect for the ‘gram. In terms of food options, it’s no slouch, either.

The 3 Bowls Signature Trio Combo (from $13.30++) is a must-try. You essentially get three petite-sized bowls—lu rou fan, oyster and pig intestine mee sua, and shredded chicken rice —served on a wooden tray, suitable for two diners. It’s a great way to savour some of the most popular dishes from Taiwan, but in more manageable portions.

Another highlight is the Taiwanese Cold Noodles ($7.80++), which is made up of noodles served with a house-made peanut sauce and topped with shredded chicken, cucumber, carrot, and egg. It’s a refreshing dish that’s suitable for a hot day.
