If you’ve been missing Hong Kong food, Friends Cafe HK is the place to go to. Inspired by the 1960s cha chaan teng experience, the menu features authentic and modern Cantonese favourites with wallet-friendly prices!

Friends Cafe HK is a Hong Kong-style tea house that has opened recently along Sembawang Road. Opened by two Hong Kong natives, the interior of the cafe aims to recreate the cha chaan teng experience from the 1960s.

The most popular item on the menu is the Curry Fishball ($4)—a popular Hong Kong street food known for its rich yellow and red curry sauce. If you haven’t gotten the chance to try this classic street food, you can head over to Friends Cafe HK for a taste!

Another classic Hong Kong teahouse item is the Luncheon Meat Noodles with Egg ($6.50)—a comforting breakfast food commonly seen in cha chaan teng menus. If you’d like a heartier meal, you can opt for their Black Pepper Pork Chop Rice ($7). Their black pepper sauce packs a punch and goes well with the pork chop.

Other snacks options include French Toast ($3.50), Deep Fried Sotong Balls ($2.50), and Peanut Butter Milk Toast ($1.80). You can also get their Set Meals ($6.50 to $7), which comes with a main course, a side dish of your choice, and toast with butter.
