Korea-famous Lotteria opens second outlet at Jurong Point
Fans of South Korean fast-food chain Lotteria now have another reason to head west. The brand has just opened its second Singapore outlet at Jurong Point, operated by Katrina Group, bringing its signature Korean-style burgers and sides closer to diners outside Changi, where its first Singapore location is based.
We headed down on opening day on 5 August to check it out, and it was immediately clear that Jurong residents had been waiting for this. By the time we arrived, there was already a long queue snaking outside the outlet.
First Look At Lotteria SG: Exclusive Bulgogi Burger, Korean Fried Chicken And More
For those who don’t know, Lotteria started out in 1979 as South Korea’s very first hamburger chain and has grown into a well-known brand both at home and abroad. The chain now has over 1,600 outlets across seven countries, with Singapore among its newest international locations.
The Jurong Point menu sticks to the Singapore favourites, starting with Ria’s Bulgogi Burger (from $6.90), featuring a juicy beef patty glazed in a sweet-savoury bulgogi sauce.
While the burger doesn’t look like much on the outside, I did find it to be an enjoyable one. The bulgogi flavours came through clearly with a sweet and savoury profile that, while lacking the char of actual Korean bulgogi, still set it apart from your usual beef burger. The patty was soft and tender, with some lettuce adding a light crunch to cut through the grease.
We also had the T-Rex Chicken Burger, priced at $6.90 a la carte and $10.20 as a meal. It features a crispy chicken thigh finished with onions, pickles, lettuce, and creamy onion sauce on a sesame bun. In terms of size, it’s definitely the better value of the two. Fried chicken fans would enjoy this one.
Another Lotteria classic worth trying is Ria’s Shrimp Burger ($6.90), a crispy patty packed with real shrimp chunks, paired with tartar and Thousand Island sauce.
Other favourites include the Gangjung Chicken ($11.20 for two pieces), a Korean-style fried chicken. This was the highlight of our meal—the chicken had a light, crisp batter coated in a sweet-spicy glaze, while the meat stayed moist and juicy even after sitting for a bit. Fans of spicy food may find it a touch mild, but those who can’t handle heat will find it satisfying.
You don’t need to go elsewhere for dessert either. Their new Mango Peach Bingsu ($5.90) comes with milk-flavoured soft serve, strawberry puree, red bean paste, and generous chunks of sweet mango and peach. The flavours balanced well, though the shaved ice leaned more like actual crushed ice rather than the fine, fluffy texture you’d expect from a proper bingsu.
To mark the opening, Lotteria is running a series of promotions throughout August. Spend $12 or more in a single transaction between 5 August and 25 August to walk away with a limited-edition weekly Blind Bag collectable, while stocks last.
