Muji Cafe opens at 100AM in Tanjong Pagar
Cafe&Meal MUJI, or Muji Cafe, is now open on the fourth floor of 100AM, so CBD peeps looking for a simple, tasty meal can now count this new opening on their list of lunch spots to hit up. This is the Japanese retailer’s third cafe in Singapore, after their Raffles City and Plaza Singapura outlets, so getting your Muji Cafe cravings sorted just got a little easier.
Like their other stores, this Muji Cafe sports the brand’s signature pared-down, minimalistic look, with a display of their hot and cold deli items, as well as desserts.
One cold deli dish you can get is Prawn Couscous Salad with Yuzu-sesame Dressing ($2.80), which comes with poached prawns, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes, tossed with couscous and a zesty yuzu-sesame dressing.
For something more colourful, check out Cafe Muji’s Roasted Butternut Squash, Sweet Purple Potato & Kale Salad ($2.80), where the oven-roasted root vegetables are dressed in a white balsamic glaze, and accompanied with chunks of walnut.
On the hot deli side, a standout item is Sakura Chicken with Curry Miso and Dried Chilli ($4.80), which is prepared with hens that are fed with Japanese lactobacillus-fermented feed—the meat is juicier and more tender, and has less fat and cholesterol!
Another hot deli dish for those who prefer fish is Golden Sesame Crusted Salmon, Shoyu Sesame Leek Sauce ($4.80), where sesame-hojicha crusted salmon is pan-roasted and served with braised hairy gourd, as well as a shoyu-sesame leek gravy.
If you’re looking for a bit of everything, a 4 Deli Set Meal is priced at $19.80, which comes with 16 Grain Rice and a bowl of comforting Carrot Cumin Soup.
Complete your meal at Muji Cafe with their range of desserts, including a Lemon Yuzu Tart ($8.90), featuring house-made lemon yuzu curd with a surprise strawberry filling hidden within. It’s dolloped with torched meringue for a lightly charred finish.
Then, there’s the Strawberry Hokkaido Cheese Roll ($8.90), starring a centre of Hokkaido cheese dotted through with fresh strawberry!
You can’t go wrong with the classics, such as Hokkaido Burnt Cheesecake ($8.90), here made with the same premium Hokkaido cheese as in the roll cake.
These are just a few of the many options available in the displays at any Muji Cafe; the selections are sometimes updated with new dishes, prepared according to produce that’s in season, so pop over to check them out for simple dishes that can’t go wrong.
Also found at 100AM is Takagi Coffee, a newly opened cafe that’s been around in Japan since 1958! Otherwise, Yakiniku-GO has collaborated with an IG-famous chef to release a new, limited-time menu.
