While there’s no official announcement on the launch, eager netizens have been quick to spot the chain’s hoarding. According to a photo submitted by a user to the Singapore Atrium Sale Facebook page, the hoarding is located a few units after Din Tai Fung, which means it’s on Basement 1 of the mall.
Those who frequent Johor Bahru (JB) will be familiar with Oriental Kopi, a popular chain that often sports long lines.
Oriental Kopi Review: Famous Malaysian Cafe Opens In SG With Popular Nasi Lemak And More
The Malaysian chain first set up shop in Singapore last 2024, at Bugis Junction. This upcoming NEX outlet will mark their second outlet here.
Fans return for their Oriental Signature Nasi Lemak ($9.50++): featuring fried chicken, an egg, steamed rice, a dollop of sambal sauce, crispy ikan bilis, fried peanuts, and sliced cucumbers. The coconut rice is said to be fragrant with pandan notes, while the chicken is crispy outside and tender within.
When we visited their Bugis Junction restaurant last year, we also tried the Penang Char Kuey Teow ($7.50++), which was unfortunately lacking in wok hei.
The Double Butter Kaya Toast ($2.60++) fared better. This snack comprised two crispy toasts layered with Hainanese kaya and not one, but two slabs of cold butter for extra richness.
We’ll update this article once we get more information on the opening date and menu!
