Singapore’s OG Bubble Tea Brand Sweet Talk Is Still Around, Get $1.80 Milk Tea Here

18th October 2023

Sweet Talk has cheap milk tea with a variety of toppings

True OG bubble tea fans will know of Sweet Talk, otherwise known as Singapore’s first homegrown BBT brand. Back in the early 2000s, there were multiple Sweet Talk branches mushrooming under HDB blocks, and their wallet-friendly milk tea served as a student’s best companion. Though the popularity of the brand has dwindled with the influx of competitors, I’m sure we can all appreciate an affordable cup of old-school bubble tea that’s well-priced under $2—even till today.

While there isn’t a directory of outlets, online reviews show the brand still has stores in Hougang, Pasir Ris, Tampines, Woodlands, and Jurong West.

A cup of Boba Tea costs $1.80 here. FYI, you don’t have to pay an additional sum for their black pearls unless you want an extra serving. In that case, you only have to pay $0.40 more! Besides Milk Tea ($1.80), there are Green Tea ($1.80) and Red Tea ($1.80) options for you to choose from.

You can also customise your drink to your liking at Sweet Talk. A popular creation is their Milkshake ($2.30) and Oreo Bits ($0.60), which gives you an Oreo milkshake. If you prefer ice-blended drinks to milk tea, you can opt for their Yogurt Iceblend ($2.30), Coconut Milkshake ($3.80), or Avocado Milkshake ($3.50).

Else, we recommend their Tea Iceblend ($2.30). You can pair this with a variety of toppings, including Rainbow Jelly ($0.30), White Pearl ($0.60), Green Apple Jelly ($0.30), Mango Popball ($0.60), Lychee Jelly ($0.30), and Aloe Vera ($0.60).

Their menu also offers a Special Ice Blend series, priced at $2.20 per cup. Some popular flavours that patrons return to include Passion Mango, Watermelon Lychee, and Strawberry Grape. Do note that for those who want to upsize their drinks, there’s an additional charge of $0.50!
