Takagi Ramen at Marine Parade

There’s no stopping Takagi Ramen, as the affordable ramen chain opens their eighth outlet in Singapore—this time in the East. Their new Marine Parade outlet officially opens tomorrow, 9 August 2022, and will be the first location to offer not only value-for-money Japanese fare, but also a wide variety of beers.
A whopping 66 types of beers will be offered at Takagi Ramen Marine Parade, including the likes of Kronenbourg 1664 ($7.30), Asahi (from $6.50), and Hoegaarden ($5.40). For those looking for drinks with higher alcohol content, there’s also soju from brands such as Jinro ($13).

All prices are nett, and Takagi says that their Japanese and Korean beers are priced lower than at supermarkets. If the eating habits of Japanese salarymen are anything to go by, cheap ramen and wallet-friendly beers make a great pair.

The most value-for-money ramen you can get here is probably the Takagi Ramen ($6.90), which features the classic tonkotsu soup and chashu. For an even richer pork bone broth, the slightly pricier Black Tonkotsu ($7.90) should fit the bill.
Those who need some spice to whet their appetite should go for the Karaka-men ($7.50), a fiery spin on the usual tonkotsu ramen, courtesy of a special blend of red chillies.

If you’re really strapped for cash, the Tonmeshi ($3.90), which sees fluffy Japanese rice topped with sweet ginger and hand-pulled pork, is a good option. There’s also the Chashu Donburi ($3.90), a hearty donburi topped with braised chashu, egg mayo, spring onion, and teriyaki sauce.
