Wooly’s Bagels Opens In Bugis With New Loaded Bagelwiches

10th January 2024

Wooly’s Bagels has opened a third outlet on Arab Street

Bagel lovers, look this way! Wooly’s Bagels has landed on Arab Street, near Bugis MRT Station. After a brief pop-up in Kovan last year, the Muslim-owned bagel eatery then found a second location in Joo Chiat—their first brick-and-mortar store after initially operating out of Egg Stop on Rangoon Road. This latest Arab Street opening will make it three places where you can find their loaded bagelwiches.

This location looks to be their biggest yet, with more indoor seats available, plus several tables along the corridor outside the eatery where you’ll be kept cool by not one, but two ceiling fans.

If this is set to be your first time at Wooly’s Bagels, start with their GTFBagel ($10.50). Short for Get The Freak Bagel, this sees chicken ham with creamy scrambled eggs, a hashbrown, plus truffle mayonnaise in a chewy bagel.

A second option to consider, which has been on the menu since their Rangoon Road days, is Otah Kau ($12.60). This bagelwich sees mackerel otah with the same thicc scrambled eggs, slathered with a house-made gochujang mayonnaise.

Since our visit, Wooly’s Bagels has expanded their menu to include crowd favourites such as Chic Teriyaki ($12.80), starring a whole teriyaki chicken thigh with eggs, furikake and truffle mayo; reviewers online love the juiciness of the chonky cut and medley of flavours in each bite.

One of the latest bagelwiches to hit Wooly’s Bagel menu is Barnyard Birdie ($14.20): this is the newest take on a fried chicken burger, which has gone through several iterations since they first opened. Where the Double Chicken Frizzle which we first tried could be compared to a McSpicy Double in bagel form, this looks to be more like a glazed, deep-fried chicken thigh cutlet that promises “zing, zest, and a heat level that can be adjusted to your preference”.

Spice lovers, your other alternative is Szechuan Sunrise ($13.30), which pairs mala-infused chicken tempered with mayonnaise and silken scrambled eggs, plus black pepper just for that extra touch of spice.

Sugar fiends, don’t worry, because Bagel S’MORE’S ($7.90) is still on the menu! They’re also serving barista-brewed coffees here, so you can have a legit cuppa Joe with your meal.
