If you’re a Westie who loves fresh bakes, check out Dough, tucked away at Bukit Timah Interim Food Centre. Formerly known as Juz Bake, the stall is known for a range of classic French pastries, Japanese bakes and more, all at bang-for-your-buck prices.

Take this glorious-looking Croissant, for instance, which costs a mere $2 here. Despite the affordable price, we found it to be wonderfully buttery, crispy, and flaky—everything you’d want from a good croissant.

The Shio Pan is also super value-for-money, coming in at just $2.30. It had a nice crunch on the outside, which gave way to a fluffy, buttery interior. We wished it were a little more generously salted, as the bread sometimes lacked that savoury dimension.

Marked by its rich and earthy filling, the Red Bean Bun ($1.80) is another solid option. Just look at how the chunky filling oozes out when we tear into it!

The Kouign Amann, meanwhile, boasts crisp, caramelised edges and buttery, flaky layers within. At just $2.80, you won’t find many places that offer kouign-amann at such low prices.
