Sentosa food guide

If you’re in Sentosa for Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights, fish-watching at S.E.A. Aquarium, or sun-tanning at one of the beach clubs, our Sentosa food guide will come in handy. We’ve compiled the best cafes and restaurants in different parts of the island, including a famous Korean bakery, a Japanese hamburg eatery, and an Australian dessert spot.

1. MinsuizenRaku

Omakase and teppanyaki in a fancy resort for under $100, in this economy? Say no more. Award-winning teppanyaki omakase brand MinsuizenRaku has opened at Amara Sanctuary Resort, bringing their affordable chef’s choice sets to Sentosa after going viral following their Fraser Tower debut. The new outlet is said to be Singapore’s first teppanyaki omakase restaurant inside a luxury resort villa hotel, making it a worthy pick for your next Sentosa date night or celebratory meal.

Their 12-course teppanyaki omakase menu is priced at $88++, with their spring line-up featuring premium ingredients prepared grilled right before you. While courses change each quarter, diners can currently expect to feast on fresh seasonal fish, scallops with salmon roe, black tiger prawns, and boneless chicken thighs on the menu, among others.

If you feel like splurging, there are three other menu tiers, each with progressively more atas hero ingredients such as A5 Japanese Wagyu. Take your pick from the Premium Course ($138++), Classic Course ($188++), and Deluxe Course ($248++), depending on how indulgent you want the meal to be.

Reserve your table at MinsuizenRaku here.

Renowned pastry chef Pierre Herme has opened his largest and grandest flagship store in Singapore. This two-storey cafe features a vibrant macaron display and more on the first floor, while the second floor doubles as a restaurant.

Since Pierre Herme is known for their macarons, we urge you to try at least one of the 18 flavours available. Each piece is priced at $4.50. Yes, this is pricey given the tiny portion size, but with unique, seasonal flavours such as Olea, a tomato leaf and black olive combination, and Indulgence, which stars mint and peas, it’s worth a try. Alternatively, consider the Ispahan ($18) instead: a macaron biscuit with raspberry sorbet, chantilly cream, and raspberry coulis.

Dempsey Hill isn’t the only romantic date spot in Singapore—there’s also SKIRT Restaurant at W Singapore, Sentosa Cove, where you can treat your loved one to a hearty meal amid a fancy and elegant ambience.

The restaurant specialises in open-fire cooking, which is why the Akune Gold A5 Wagyu (from $100++) is a must-try. You get 80g or 160g of tender and juicy Wagyu steak sourced from Japan, best paired with Grilled Broccolini ($15++) or Smoked Mashed Potatoes ($15++). If the prices are out of your budget, the Grilled Shirobuta Pork Collar ($48++) is a great alternative that’s tasty and filling.

The Basil Tomato Bread ($14+) is a popular pick at their bakeries in Korea, so we recommend trying it. You can pay an additional $3++ for a small serving of Earl Grey Milk Tea Spread to pair with the loaves. Otherwise, opt for the Maple Bacon Toast ($19+) on the brunch menu; this brunch item comes with garlic toast, thick bacon strips with crushed pistachios, and maple syrup on the side.

Little Farms Cafe - Smashed Avocado On Toast

For a chill brunch date with your loved one, we recommend the crowd-favourite Avocado Smash On Sourdough ($24++), featuring a crispy, chewy sourdough slice topped with poached eggs, feta, tomato, and dukkah spice blend. If you’d like to try something new, the Sourdough French Toast ($21++) is a great choice: thick French toast with banana brulee, honeycomb butter, candied walnut, and a drizzle of maple syrup. There are heartier options too, of course, such as the Tiger Prawn Fettuccine ($29++): fresh tiger prawns, onion marmalade, and sesame pangrattato.
