2025 has been the year of Chinese food brand openings in Singapore, particularly restaurants and dessert spots. However, there hasn’t been a bakery or cafe—until RUXU made its debut at Funan Mall. This bakery hails from Guangzhou and has stores in Shenzhen and Shanghai at the time of writing. Their Singapore outpost is special, as it marks the brand’s first international venture.Â

It seems like the Caramel Croissant Tart ($2.80) has been selling like hotcakes at the new bakery. The snack features a glossy, caramelised top and crispy, flaky crust, packed with a soft, pudding-like custard within! If you’ve tried and liked it, you can consider getting a box of four.

The bakery doubles as a cafe that specialises in traditional Chinese desserts, though they also offer a small selection of trendy options. The Green Grape & Bubble Shaved Milk Ice with Sea Salt Cheese ($10.80) is a standout, comprising a pile of creamy shaved milk ice topped with juicy green grapes, chewy tapioca pearls, and sweet-salty cheese foam.

The full menu isn’t available online yet, but the brand has shared photos of more desserts on their official Instagram account, such as pistachio paste and mango pomelo sago, which you can look forward to trying during your visit.

You can find the new bakery-cafe at Funan, a stone’s throw away from City Hall MRT Station. Please extend some grace if you encounter any hiccups, as the bakery is new to business.
