New Thai-inspired souffle pancakes at Bangkok Jam

Soufflé pancakes: you know them, you love them. Just when you thought they couldn’t be reinvented any more, Bangkok Jam comes through with two new Thai-inspired soufflé pancakes ($16.90++) on its dessert menu.

As part of its new dessert offerings, the Thai eatery now makes Thai milk tea and mango sticky rice-flavoured stacks. The former is served with a Thai milk tea sauce and chewy pearls for extra texture, while the latter is dressed with mango slices and pomelo. As for the pancakes themselves, expect nothing but pillowy light stacks that feel like you’re tucking into a cloud. All are served with a scoop of ice cream too.

Bangkok Jam hasn’t neglected those who prefer the classics too. Joining the Thai duo is the simple but equally indulgent Mix Berry Soufflé ($16.90++). Other new additions include waffles served with tropical fruit compotes and ice cream. One example is the Crispy Vanilla Waffle ($15.90++), which comes with coconut ice cream, mangoes, raspberry sauce and coconut jelly. Outside of these inventions, the eatery still retains its signature Thai desserts, so you have the chance to have a bowl of tap tim krob, also known as red ruby, with your pancakes.
Bangkok Jam has always been known for pushing the envelope on its desserts and always being right on trend. Its former menu listed the likes of snow ice with similarly Thai flavours, durian cheesecake, and an intriguing chili chocolate cake. One expects nothing but good things from this new dessert selection, so be sure to head down to its Dhoby Ghaut outlet as soon as you can, armed with an empty stomach and your phone’s camera ever ready.
