The hype train of Din Tai Fung-style pork chop fried rice doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon—apparent from the speed at which King of Fried Rice is expanding. Fresh off the press is another new addition to the west: King of Fried Rice Bukit Batok East. This marks the chain’s 21st branch, following their most recent Clementi outlet, which launched earlier this year.

The all-new King of Fried Rice outlet is located in Tong Lai Eating House, a coffeeshop at 282 Bukit Batok Ave 3. While it’s a short five-minute bus ride from the MRT station, a bit of walking is involved. Ardent fans might be aware that the chain also has a branch at Bukit Batok West, more specifically in Hometeam NS Bukit Batok.
Go straight for their bestselling Egg Fried Rice With Pork Cutlet ($6.50), priced at a fraction of what you would pay at any Din Tai Fung restaurant. The pork chop here is said to be tender and well-seasoned, with a slightly peppery flavour. There’s also Egg Fried Rice With Shrimp ($6.50) and Egg Fried Rice With Crabmeat and Tobiko ($10) if you prefer seafood.

Don’t forget to add a healthy heaping of their housemade chilli oil, which goes well with the savoury fried rice.
