Rrooll: New Cinnamon Bun Bakery In Jewel Changi Has Flavours Such As Ferrero Rocher And Curry

Rrooll cinnamon rolls in Jewel Changi

Singapore is definitely on a roll when it comes to new bakery concepts, with the latest being the aptly named Rrooll. Dubbing themselves as Singapore’s very first bakery specialising in cinnamon rolls, the bakery opened earlier this January in Jewel Changi.

Run by a former banker, the bakery currently has eight flavours on the menu, all of which are twists on the standard cinnamon bun. Prices start at $3.40, and go up to $4.20.

Cinnamon roll fans can go straight for the Classic ($3.40), which is made with Indonesian cinnamon, brown sugar, and topped with cream cheese. Fluffy, yet dense, the cinnamon and cream cheese made for a comforting medley.

For an autumnal twist, try the Cinnamon Apple ($3.40), which crosses an apple pie with a sticky cinnamon bun.

A resounding favourite of the sweet flavours was hands-down the Hazelnut Rocher ($3.70). Riffing on the Ferrero Rocher chocolate, the bun was swirled with chocolate and topped with a hazelnut cream, and ground nuts for bite.

What makes Rrooll intriguing, though, are their savoury rolls on the menu. Play it safe by going for Sweet Cheese ($3.40), or try Garlic Onion Cheese ($3.70), which tastes very similar to the Korean garlic cream cheese bun that is trendy now.

Not for everyone is the Hawaiian ($4.20). Made like the pizza, the bun is layered with tomato sauce, ham pieces, and pineapple chunks for a savoury-sweet combo. A safer bet is their Japanese Curry ($4.20), a heartier version of Japanese curry pan, with spiced breadcrumbs and honey baked ham to finish.

You can get your hands on these at Jewel Changi, at their flagship stall at Basement Two, or on their website. Delivery is $10 islandwide, or free with a spend above $60.
