The Straits Refreshment Co at Ang Mo Kio
The Straits Refreshment Co introduces Singapore’s first smoky oden UFO to elevate your food experience! Located at Ang Mo Kio, their new mobile steamboat includes a customisable oden bowl on top, held by your cold drink of choice at the bottom.Â

The Straits Oden allows you to choose your broth (from $1), along with a minimum of three oden sticks (from $1.20). The bottom cup holds your drink of choice, with options ranging from milkshakes to milk tea with toppings. This means you can bring your oden along with you, and sip on your icy cold beverage wherever and whenever.
To get the ‘smoky’ effect, dry ice is added to the bottom cup, which also helps to keep your drink cool while you enjoy your food. The concept is pretty similar to Taiwan’s Guan Dong Zhu—a Taiwanese street food featuring oden and noodles—so if you miss Taiwan’s street food, this is a place to visit.Â

There are a total of six broths to choose from: tom yum, coconut curry, coconut chicken, tomato, mala, and fish collagen. In addition to the broth, you also get to select from their wide range of basic and premium oden options, including fish roe balls, king oyster mushroom, salmon cheeseballs, and konjac noodles to go with your soup.
