Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre opens with 39 stalls

Following the openings of Buangkok Hawker Centre and Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre, the North-East is about to have yet another new treasure trove of good food: Woodleigh Hawker Centre. With its official opening day on 5 September 2024, you can expect a total of 39 stalls to feature here, many of which are from well-known brands.
Eng Kee Chicken Wings is one of the more renowned names at this hawker centre. Having first opened in 1989, the brand is known for their Crispy Chicken Wings ($1.70). Pair it with some economic bee hoon and ingredients such as luncheon meat and otah for a hearty yet affordable meal.
For some Japanese fusion, check out Liu Kou Shui. Their claim to fame, the Mala Char Siew Don ($7), has juicy char siew glazed with everyone’s favourite spicy and numbing seasoning atop a bowl of fluffy pearl rice. Other enticing menu items include the Mentaiko Chicken Katsu Don ($7) and the Angus Beef Sukiyaki Don ($8).

The legendary Guan Kee Kway Chap also makes an appearance here. The stall has been running since the 80s, and is a go-to for many in the Toa Payoh ‘hood, where the OG stall is located.

Those who love Munchi Pancakes will be delighted to know they have set up shop at the new hawker centre. The well-known min jiang kueh brand has multiple outlets islandwide, including Yishun and Tampines. Try their signature Biscoff ($2.60) or Black Sesame ($2.20) MJK, which comes packed with your choice of filling!
